Jazz Band for Weddings on the French Riviera

Live instrumental jazz for ceremonies, cocktail hours and drinks receptions.

Dilia Jazz Band provides live instrumental jazz for weddings on the French Riviera, specialising in ceremonies, cocktail hours, drinks receptions and relaxed dinner atmospheres. Based in southeastern France, we regularly work with international couples and destination wedding planners throughout the Côte d'Azur.

Our duo, trio and quartet line-ups combine saxophone, jazz guitar, double bass and drums to create a warm live atmosphere that complements your venue without overpowering conversations.

Why live music matters

Live jazz for destination weddings on the Côte d'Azur

The French Riviera offers a remarkable setting for a destination wedding: Mediterranean gardens, private villas, luxury hotels, historic properties, beach clubs and terraces overlooking the sea.

Dilia Jazz Band with a newly married couple during their wedding reception

In such a distinctive environment, music should feel like a natural part of the celebration. It should welcome your guests, bring warmth to the venue and follow the rhythm of the day without becoming intrusive.

Jazz is particularly well suited to this type of wedding. It can be intimate during the ceremony, lively during the cocktail hour and more understated during dinner.

Unlike a fixed playlist, live musicians can respond to the atmosphere in real time. We adapt the volume, tempo and musical energy according to the venue, the number of guests and the way the reception develops.

A ceremony may finish later than expected, photographs may take longer or the cocktail reception may move to another part of the venue. We are accustomed to these situations and adjust our performance with flexibility.

As a locally based band, we are familiar with the region and its wedding venues. This simplifies the organisation and avoids the additional travel and accommodation arrangements often required when bringing musicians from abroad.

Every moment of the day

Music for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception

Every wedding follows a different schedule. Some couples book us exclusively for the cocktail hour, while others would also like live music during the ceremony or the beginning of dinner.

We adapt our performance to the moments you would like us to accompany.

Ceremony music

A subtle, meaningful presence that heightens the emotion of the moment without ever covering the words being exchanged.

Wedding ceremony music

Live music can bring a personal and emotional dimension to your wedding ceremony. We can perform in a Mediterranean garden, private villa, luxury hotel, church, historic courtyard or on a terrace overlooking the sea.

The musicians can accompany important moments such as:

  • the arrival of your guests;
  • the entrance of the wedding party;
  • the entrance of the bride or couple;
  • the signing or symbolic ceremony;
  • the couple's exit.

For a ceremony, the music is generally soft and intimate. The guitar and saxophone duo is particularly well suited to this setting, although a trio may also be appropriate depending on the venue and number of guests.

You can also request a meaningful piece for your entrance or exit. When the song is suitable for our instruments, we can prepare an instrumental arrangement in advance.

Cocktail hour and drinks reception

The cocktail hour or drinks reception is one of the best moments for a live jazz band.

After the ceremony, your guests begin to relax, enjoy drinks, discover the venue and spend time together. Live musicians immediately create atmosphere while allowing conversations to continue comfortably.

Our repertoire includes jazz standards, bossa nova, swing, French songs and international classics arranged in a jazz style. We do not perform exactly the same set list at every wedding — we observe the atmosphere and adapt the choice of music, tempo and energy as the reception develops.

Many couples choose live jazz during the cocktail hour followed by a DJ after dinner. The two formats work naturally together: the band creates a relaxed and distinctive atmosphere at the beginning of the reception, while the DJ takes over later for the evening party.

Dinner background music

We can also perform during the beginning of dinner, depending on the layout and schedule of your reception.

For this part of the day, the music becomes softer and more understated. It should support the atmosphere without distracting from conversations, speeches or service.

A duo or trio is usually the most suitable option for dinner background music.

Booking from abroad

Why international couples choose Dilia Jazz Band

When organising a destination wedding from abroad, you need local suppliers who are responsive, reliable and easy to work with. We regularly perform for English-speaking couples and collaborate with international wedding planners, venues and other wedding suppliers.

01

Direct booking with the musicians

You communicate directly with the band from your first enquiry until the wedding day. When you book directly with Dilia Jazz Band, there is no agency commission or unnecessary intermediary between you and the musicians.

This means that you receive answers directly from the performers, the proposal reflects the real requirements of your wedding, and musical or technical details can be discussed without information passing through several different people.

You have one direct contact throughout the preparation, and the musicians organising your performance are the same people who will be present on the day.

02

Clear communication in English

We communicate clearly by email in English throughout the planning process. This allows the important information to be confirmed in writing, including:

  • the wedding date and venue;
  • the chosen line-up;
  • performance times;
  • ceremony cues;
  • technical requirements;
  • venue access;
  • contact details for the planner or venue manager.

On the wedding day, we can coordinate the practical details in English with your wedding planner, venue team and other suppliers.

03

Coordination with your wedding planner

We are always happy to work directly with your wedding planner. For a destination wedding, this is often the easiest solution. Your planner can send us the final schedule, confirm access to the venue, identify the performance area and coordinate our installation with the other suppliers.

We can communicate with them regarding arrival times, ceremony cues, cocktail-hour timings, sound restrictions, electrical power, parking, equipment access and the backup plan in case of unsuitable weather.

This allows you to enjoy your wedding without having to manage the musicians yourself on the day.

04

A professional and autonomous setup

We provide the equipment required for most wedding ceremonies and cocktail receptions. Our installation is designed to remain tidy and discreet — technical equipment should not dominate the appearance of a beautiful villa, terrace, garden or historic property.

We arrive early enough to prepare before your guests enter the reception area and confirm any final details with the wedding planner or venue team.

Cocktail hour & evening

Many couples choose live jazz during the cocktail hour followed by a DJ after dinner.

The two formats work naturally together: the band creates a relaxed and distinctive atmosphere at the beginning of the reception, while the DJ takes over later for the evening party.

Live jazz works particularly well during the ceremony, cocktail hour and beginning of the reception, providing a human, visual and musical presence while your guests meet and enjoy the venue.

We are used to coordinating this transition with planners and DJs so the evening flows smoothly.

Our wedding jazz line-ups

Dilia Jazz Band is available as a duo, trio or quartet. The most suitable option depends on your venue, the number of guests, the available space and the atmosphere you would like to create. Our objective is not to recommend the largest formation automatically — we help you choose the line-up that genuinely suits your wedding.

Jazz guitar and saxophone duo performing live at a wedding reception
The most intimate

Guitar and saxophone duo

Guitar · Saxophone

Our most intimate line-up combines jazz guitar and saxophone. The guitar provides harmony and rhythm, while the saxophone carries the melody and gives the duo its distinctive jazz character.

This compact formation is particularly suited to:

  • ceremonies;
  • intimate receptions;
  • private villas;
  • hotel terraces;
  • smaller cocktail hours;
  • dinner background music.

It requires little space and creates a subtle live atmosphere close to your guests.

The balance

Guitar, saxophone and double bass trio

Guitar · Saxophone · Double Bass

The trio combines jazz guitar, saxophone and double bass. The double bass adds depth and a stronger rhythmic foundation, creating a fuller band sound while maintaining a comfortable volume for conversation.

This line-up works particularly well for:

  • cocktail hours;
  • drinks receptions;
  • Mediterranean gardens;
  • château courtyards;
  • seaside terraces;
  • medium-sized weddings.

For many couples, the trio offers the ideal balance between musical presence, warmth and discretion.

Jazz quartet with guitar, saxophone, double bass and drums performing at a wedding reception
The most generous

Guitar, saxophone, double bass and drums quartet

Guitar · Saxophone · Double Bass · Drums

The quartet includes jazz guitar, saxophone, double bass and drums. The drums add rhythm, movement and energy, making this formation especially suitable for larger cocktail receptions and open-air spaces.

It is a strong choice for:

  • larger weddings;
  • spacious open-air receptions;
  • long cocktail hours;
  • a more energetic live atmosphere.

Although the quartet has a greater musical presence, we still adjust the volume carefully so your guests can continue talking comfortably.

Across all three line-ups, our repertoire includes jazz standards, swing, bossa nova, French songs, romantic pieces and international classics revisited in a jazz style. This range works particularly well for international weddings, where guests of different ages and nationalities come together.

Wedding venues

Live jazz suited to French Riviera wedding venues

Wedding venues on the French Riviera are extremely varied. A hotel terrace in Cannes does not have the same requirements as a private villa in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, a Mediterranean garden in Nice or a beach club on the coast.

The position of the musicians, sound level, access and equipment must therefore be adapted to the venue.

Private villas and estates

Private villas often provide beautiful gardens, terraces and sea views. The duo and trio integrate particularly well into these settings, offering a distinctive live presence without requiring an imposing setup. We confirm access, parking and the performance area beforehand with your planner or property manager.

Cannes · Nice · MonacoCarlton Cannes hotel, a luxury wedding venue on the French Riviera

Luxury hotels

Hotels may have specific procedures concerning supplier access, installation times, approved performance areas and sound levels. We coordinate these details directly with the venue or wedding planner so the setup remains smooth and discreet. Our adaptable sound equipment allows us to perform naturally on terraces, in gardens, lounges and reception areas.

Beach clubs · SeasideJazz duo performing outdoors at a château wedding in southern France

Beach clubs and seaside terraces

Open-air seaside venues require careful positioning and sound management because of the wind, surrounding noise and size of the space. We adapt the amplification so the music remains present around the reception without becoming intrusive. We require a stable area, access to electrical power and suitable protection from rain or strong direct sunlight — arrangements that are generally straightforward when confirmed in advance.

Our experience across the French Riviera

We are available for weddings throughout the Côte d'Azur, including Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Juan-les-Pins, Èze, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Monaco, Saint-Tropez and the Var coastline. Our experience includes a performance at the Carlton Beach Club, events in Nice and receptions in private properties and venues across the region. Travel costs depend on the exact location, schedule and chosen line-up, and are clearly included in our proposal so you know the complete price before confirming.
